which would you get, and why. no flame wars here, i'd like to buy one of these when i graduate next year. my dream would be to get an A4, but.

It is interesting! The Toyota logo is a triple oval. Two internal ovals located perpendicularly symbolize a strong relationship between the client and the company. In addition, if you look closely, in these ovals you can see the image of all six letters of the brand name T, O, Y, O, T, A.

I've narrowed my choices down to the Toyota Celica, Acura RSX, and '03's go for $17k brand new off the truck you can get a or

YACT: Celica vs. RSX. vs. Tiburon - Ars Technica OpenForum

I'm getting a new car at the end of this year. I'm gathering opinions now. I want a car that has good acceleration and excellent handling. Something with some decent storage space and a smooth ride but still has fast pickup and a "sporty" feel.

And it has to be priced between 20 and 25k. And one last detail: I like the Celica because it's a trusted and reliable make and model. If I keep up the maintenance, it will probably go ten years without a problem. It also has an incredibly smooth ride-almost too smooth. I test drove a Celica earlier today, and I could barely tell the difference between 60 and miles per hour. I would have enjoyed it more if I could "feel" the extra speed.

The other down note on the Celica is the poor visibility. The side and rear windows are so tiny that changing lanes is an act of faith. The RSX is my current favorite of the bunch. The S-Type has the most horsepower and best acceleration of all three cars, and Car and Driver rated 1 in a comparison with the Celica, Tiburon, Turbo Beetle, and Eclipse.

However, while the Celica looks like a race car, the RSX looks like a family sedan. It's nice, but it's definitely not sexy. And it costs several thousand dollars more than the Tiburon or the Celica. The Tiburon is my budget car. It also has the best warranty, and it's by far the best-looking of the three. However, it's also the smallest no storage space and weakest of the three though it has adequate horsepower for my needs. Alright, car-lovin' Arsians, what's your pick?

I hate to add a fourth option, but have you considered a WRX? It fits well within your price range and it handles like a dream. You could even go Wagon for the extra room. Screw those import cars with tiny engines that sounds like little girls screaming when you step on the gas whiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Pontiac Grand Prix Since all your choices are two door cars, why not keep the Golf GTI in the running?

Wow, that was quick. To answer the responses so far: I've only owned two cars in my life I make my cars last: They both had so many problems that they've turned me off of Ford and GM cars for life. Maybe I'm being stubborn, but Pontiacs are out. The only American brand I would even consider would be a Dodge. I'm not too familiar with the WRX. All I know is that they look like a Volvo and drive like a Ferrari. I'll do some research. Don't know much about the Golf.

Jetta's are very popular here in So. Are you sure that people don't "turn heads" for the ricers because they want to turn around and vomit? Pushin bhp, abouot curb weight. The Tiburon has the world's nastiest attempt at a short-throw clutch in existence, plus the fact that, IMHO, the gears are totally inadequate for the engine they're serving.

I'm thinking either someone at Hyundai reversed the plans for some odd reason or decided to "protect" the engine from over-zealous drivers by limiting it with the gear ratios.

I know absolutely nothing about the Celica. The RSX has a lovely engine and, IIRC, the suspension and tuning were modeled after the NSX, giving it unholy stability for a car in that price-range , so if you plan to play around with the car and it's your first time with a regular transmission, I'd definitely suggest the RSX, plus, it looks really really cool!
